Compostable products disintegrate leaving behind no toxic residue, without any use of additional resources, leaving behind no waste. These materials essentially return to the earth. Choosing compostable products or products with compostable packaging helps in eliminating all that plastic waste, or waste that is then sent for recycling that in turn uses a lot more resources to disintegrate.

What we can do:

Today, there are many brands that offer products in zero waste or compostable packaging. Some products are even made of compostable materials, and can be composted after use. These options are even cheaper than products that are packaged in different materials. Why pay extra for the packaging material? From dishscrubs to shampoo bars wrapped in paper to products like toys, there are multiple product replacements that are made of compostable materials. Just keep an eye out for such alternatives when you’re out shopping next!

A straw we use with our iced coffee, a few plastic bags with every grocery visit or the plastic water bottle we buy when on the go. Single-use plastics are a glaring example of the problems with throwaway culture. Vegan products do not include any form of animal derived ingredients. It not only limits exploitation of animals for their by-products but vegan products are never tested on animals and therefore are 100 per cent cruelty free. Vegan products also save you & your homes from harmful chemicals, making it the perfect choice over regular products. With so many good quality vegan options available today, isn’t it a no brainer to pick those over the ones exploiting our animal world?

Organic farming also lowers usage of energy & sequentially carbon. It is a win-win for us consumers & our environment!

Organic products are more than just food. Today you can choose organic products from soap to clothing, home products and even organic baby products. We understand that sometimes organic is more expensive, but when you buy organic products, you are paying the true cost of the production. By contrast, when you buy non-organic products, damage to water sources, soil resources, wildlife and ecosystem biodiversity, and human health from such things as exposure to pesticides is the added cost you’re incurring. When you add this to the many personal health and environmental benefits organic has to offer, it becomes clear that organic is the better bargain. So when you can, try and choose organic products over regular products!

Why choose cruelty free?

Cruelty free is a label for products or activities that do not harm or kill animals anywhere in the world. Products tested on animals or made from animals can be ruthless since these tests are often painful and cause not only suffering but also death of millions of animals every year. From inhaling toxic fumes to having their skins burnt, without any pain relief - these animals face extreme trauma. This is a complete no go especially when alternative newer ethical testing methodologies are available. As consumers, we need to demand cruelty free products so more brands adopt cleaner practices.

A choice for Fair Trade goods is a choice to support responsible companies, empower farmers, workers and protect the environment. Fairtrade ensures ethical wages, worker’s rights and working conditions to those who work tirelessly to put together our products and a square meal for their families.
